There was a lot of great performances at this year’s Grammys (Pink, Lorde just miss the cut), but here were the 5 best performances from this year’s show:
The performance that everyone is talking about is the epic “Same Love” from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Mary Lambert. It was already pretty fantastic, but then Queen Latifah starts marrying people and Madonna comes out as Colonel Sanders and singing a mashed-up version of “Open Your Heart”. This is one for the Grammys history book.
John Legend, everyone. Reminding the crowd just how good he really is, all he needs is a piano and that voice to floor you. “All Of Me” is one of his best ballads ever, and he couldn’t sound better.
Grammys love to have a current artist and a veteran teamup, and they are usually hit and miss, but Sara Bareilles and Carole King gelled perfectly together. Carole still has great pipes, and their harmonies on “Brave” are just superb.
In the most unexpected team-up, newcomers Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons joined forces on stage and blew the roof off the place. Try not to be mesmerized as Kendrick raps at rapid speed over the “Radioactive” accompaniment.
Robin Thicke trades Miley Cyrus for the veteran band Chicago, and we’re all better for it. Proving what a great voice he has, Robin duets on some classic Chicago tracks before going into “Blurred Lines”. The crowd loves it, and so do I.
