FIRST LISTEN: Justin Timberlake goes country!

I’ve been dying to hear the soundtrack for Inside Llewyn Davis, the new film by the Coen Brothers that focuses on the folk/country scene. T Bone Burnett (the genius behind the Album Of The Year winners O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss‘ Raising Sand) is at it again with another stellar collection of folk songs.  It features the film’s stars Oscar Issac, Carey Mulligan, and Justin Timberlake. Yup, Justin goes country and sounds fantastic (take a listen to “Five Hundred Miles”).  It also features Marcus Mumford (the Mumford and Sons frontman and Carey’s real-life husband) and Bob Dylan.  There’s even a track of JT and Marcus together. Pretty cool.

The film doesn’t hit theatres until December, but I will be listening to this album A LOT til then.
