Lisa Kudrow getting in on the ‘Scandal’!

I always knew Phoebe Buffay seemed a little suspicious.

Friends star Lisa Kudrow has signed on for her first major network role since the classic sitcom ended in 2004. She’ll join the cast of Scandal, the hit ABC drama starring Kerry Washington that was one of the most buzzed-about shows of last season. As part of a 10-episode run, Kudrow will play a politician, but of course, that’s all the detail we are getting. I’m sure she’ll be mysterious and have her own hidden agenda.

Her producing partner, Dan Bucatinsky, plays James Novak on the show (the reporter married to Cyrus Beene, the Chief of Staff) and has an Emmy nomination to show for it. Dan and Lisa produce her other show Web Therapy and the docu-series Who Do You Think You Are?

Lisa joins the growing cast of Scandal, with the already-announced Scott Foley being upped to a full-time cast member this upcoming season after playing a recurring role in season 2.

We’ll have to see who Lisa ends up playing but Shonda Rhimes and the cast already gave major scoop about what we can expect for season 3. Check that interview out here.

Are you excited to see Lisa tangle with Olivia Pope? Who do you want to see her play?
